PRESS RELEASE: North Hopkins ISD Police Department for 2019-2020...A Wiser Move

Posted Date: 04/29/2019

North Hopkins ISD has named Hopkins County Deputy, Kelly Wiser, as Secuity Officer the full time capacity for the start of the 2019-2020 school year. Our board has high expectations in every area, with student and staff safety at highest priority in approving my recommendation to hire Kelly Wiser on Thursday, April 25, 2019. I’m thrilled to officially welcome Officer Wiser to Team Panther for next school year. He’s already part of the Panther family in multiple ways as our DARE officer for Hopkins County, in addition to being our most prominent deputy for instructional days and special events.

With nine years of law enforcment experience, Officer Wiser will help us work with the State of Texas to establish North Hopkins ISD Police Department, of which he will serve as Chief when this process is completed for next school year. This is a momentous step for our school as we continue to raise the bar on safety and security for every student and staff member. Please join me in congratulating Kelly Wiser on this major role for the future of our school.

Furthermore, I am thankful for Hopkins County Sheriff, Lewis Tatum, and his team at the County for all that they do for our school. They have been so helpful and supportive throughout the entire process as we’ve added off-duty officers every school day this year. I know they’ll miss Kelly Wiser in the daily operation of their Department, but I assure you that our relationship is just beginning and we will continue to work with Hopkins County for the safety of our school.

Dr. Darin Jolly, Superintendent

Officer Kelly Wiser

North Hopkins ISD
